At Hertford Prep, children are inspired to have fun, be curious, and embrace every opportunity to learn.
School Years
From Nursery through to Year 6 all our pupils have the opportunity to learn and explore in beautiful woodlands and school grounds. We want every pupil to feel welcome and we pride ourselves on our family ethos.
Academic
At Hertford Prep, we nurture lifelong learners with a curriculum designed to ignite curiosity, foster resilience and support every child’s growth -academically, emotionally and socially. We blend traditional rigour with modern learning values to prepare children not just for 11+, but for life beyond.
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
We believe that a child’s happiness is the foundation of their success. As a small, nurturing school, every member of staff plays an active role in supporting the well-being of our pupils. Our strong sense of community means that staff know each child as an individual, taking time to listen, support and respond to their needs with genuine care and warmth.
Wraparound Care
We offer an extensive wraparound care provision with both a Sunrise Breakfast Club and Sunset After-School Clubs.
Co-Curricular
Our vibrant co-curricular offerings including lunchtime and after-school clubs offer everything from coding to choral singing, languages, sports, arts and drama, encouraging children to explore new talents and grow in confidence.
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor Learning is more than simply taking lessons outside. It is about creating opportunities for children to explore, discover, and grow in a natural environment - at their own pace and in their own way.
Woodlands Learning Centre
Set within the Hertford Prep grounds, Woodlands Learning Centre is a school within our school. This centre of excellence will provide a structured, yet flexible learning environment for neurodiverse pupils and those needing additional educational support.
