Set within the Hertford Prep grounds, Woodlands Learning Centre is a school within our school. This centre of excellence will provide a structured, yet flexible learning environment for neurodiverse pupils and those needing additional educational support.
We are committed to ensuring that every child from Year Groups 1–6 receives an inclusive, nurturing, and tailored education that meets their individual needs. This initiative reflects our dedication to fostering a culture where every child feels valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
Tailored and Inclusive Teaching
Woodlands Learning Centre is closely integrated with classroom teaching. Staff work in partnership with class teachers to ensure that support is consistent, targeted, and responsive to each child’s needs. The Centre is led by experienced, specialist staff, including a dedicated SENDCo, who bring expertise in supporting a wide range of learning profiles. This collaborative approach ensures that every child can access the curriculum and make meaningful progress, whatever their starting point.
A Pastoral Approach Rooted in Care
Pastoral care is at the heart of Woodlands. The Centre offers a nurturing space where children are listened to, supported, and encouraged to develop resilience and self-belief. Children who access Woodlands are fully part of the Hertford Prep community. They benefit from the school’s rich co-curricular programme, including clubs, sports, music, and outdoor learning. From Forest School and coding to drama, chess, and choir, pupils are encouraged to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom. The Centre’s location within the main school site ensures that children remain connected to their peers and the wider school experience.

Payment Arrangements
Fees can be paid via two payment options, either termly by bank transfer or monthly via direct debit using the School Fees Plan. Late payment attracts automatic interest charges of 1.5% per month calculated from the first day of term to the date cleared funds reach the school's bank account.

Cheques will also be accepted if presented in advance of the start of term.
A term’s notice (given before the first day of term) is required in writing before the removal of a pupil and half a term’s notice is required for the discontinuance of an extracurricular subject. Failing such notice, the fees for the ensuing term must be paid. Fees are reviewed annually.
